The Story
A suit for first light.
The Capitaine is the navy suit of the Embiez men's line. Twelve-ounce wool, double-breasted with a shawl lapel, half-canvas, soft on the shoulder — built to hold a clean line without ever feeling armoured.
We named it for the harbours of the western Riviera, for the hour the boats leave at first light. The water is still cold. The man at the helm is already in his suit. There is nothing performative about it. He is just dressed.
The cloth is an Italian worsted, half-canvassed in the Riviera way — structure where it counts, ease everywhere else. The shawl lapel is edged with fine white piping, giving the jacket a clean ceremonial finish. Three fittings in the Bucharest showroom. Buttonholes are sewn by hand. The trouser waistband is hand-built — cut wider than standard, in the same cloth as the trouser interfacing.
It is a working suit, made well.
