The Story
The lace gown of the principality.
The Princesse is the long-sleeve lace gown of the line. The body is French silk Chantilly laid by hand over an ivory silk crepe; the sleeves are silk Chantilly alone, sitting on the skin. Off-shoulder neckline, fitted to the knee, falling in a soft sweep.
It is the dress that answers the most photographed wedding on the Riviera — the one that, almost seventy years ago, set the line for every long-sleeve lace gown that followed. We did not try to recreate it. We took the silhouette and let the lace do the rest.
The Chantilly is sourced from a small house in Caudry. On the body it is laid over the silk crepe by hand; on the sleeves it stands alone.
It is a long gown, made slowly.
